We’re traveling to Washington Island by ferry and we’ll bike around the island. With a population of 700 people, approx. 100 miles of roads and covering 35 square miles, we’ll pretty much have the island to ourselves. Find Schoolhouse Beach and skip some stones and maybe do some swimming, bike to Mountain Tower and look for Rock Island or be daring and ride to Jackson Harbor and visit an old fishing village. Being such a small island, you pretty much can’t get lost.
We’re going to spend Friday night at a Scout camp just north of Sturgeon Bay. We hope to catch the 10 a.m. ferry to Washington Island and then we’ll spend Saturday night at the Scout camp on Washington Island. We’re taking one car with all gear in a trailer on the ferry and the boy’s mode of transportation on the island will be their bike.
